Grief

Grieving the loss of a loved one is probably the toughest emotion to go through in anyone’s life. I myself have encountered it within our family. Grief is a natural process that must be allowed to run its course. Any denial of it will only prolong the grief process, sometimes inappropriately into years and even decades. My job is not to hasten the process of early grief, for that is appropriate grief and the grieving person must be allowed to validate his/her own intense emotions. However, when grief stays intense and affects people’s lives even after a prolonged period of time, grief release therapy may be needed. The process I use is a hyper focus on the intense emotions until they are released. It is very confrontational but in the end is what gives people a new lease of life, living for the present with hopes for the future, and not be consumed by the past which you cannot change. You will live a life that the deceased loved one would have wished you to live.
